In Virgil van Dijk’s absence, Trent Alexander-Arnold captained for the first time in Premier League . It was a dream moment for the 24-year-old as he showed everyone why he was given the armband.

Leo Osman was quite impressed with Trent’s performance and said :-

“You don’t really expect him to.

“I mean his quality is such that I think it’s more of a surprise when he’s having a poor game and when he doesn’t pick his pass out.

“And today he looks like he’s thriving wearing the armband for Liverpool.

“Looks like he wants to be at the heart of every positive move that Liverpool make.

“As soon as Trent Alexander-Arnold gets the ball, every one of them just comes alive, every one of them makes the move.”

Meanwhile his role has changed for England as Gareth Southgate announced his squad for the upcoming international games. Trent Alexander-Arnold has been named as a midfielder on the team sheet.

However, the 24-year-old looked in magnificent form against Villa. Osman also believes that Trent is returning to his very best for Liverpool

Manager Jurgen Klopp will be delighted with his performance as he praised Alexander-Arnold in the build up to the game. Although he limped off the field in the second-half as Jarell Quansah came on as his replacement.
