Paul Merson praises Luis Diaz for his instant impact against Wolves

Pundit Paul Merson praised Luis Diaz for his instant impact against Wolves as he came on as a replacement for Alexis Mac Allister in the second-half.

The Colombian international was right man for the situation as Reds were struggling in the first-half. Liverpool conceded an early goal as Wolves took the lead at Molineux.

Diaz brought back the fire in the second-half as Reds made another incredible comeback in this campaign. Liverpool are making an habit of chasing their games off in a clinical style.

Writing in his column at Sportskeeda, Paul Merson praised Diaz for his heroics in the second-half. The pundit stated Mac Allister looked completely fatigued as it was a right decision to take him off.

Merson praised the winger and wrote :-

“Liverpool also turned on the style after the interval against Wolves and looked so much better after subbing on Luis Diaz for Alexis Mac Allister.

“Things didn’t go their way in the first half, but Jurgen Klopp made a few tactical tweaks at halftime as they clawed their way back into the game.”

Signed from Portuguese outfit FC Porto back in January 2022, Diaz costed only £37m for Liverpool. The Columbian has gone on to make 19 goal contribution for Reds so far in his short stint.

However, injury has been a concern for him last season. Diaz was quite some time out due to a knee injury but his comeback this season has been incredible.

He will be important for Klopp’s hunger driven style of play as Reds want to bring silverware back to Anfield this season.
