Piero Hincapie might join Liverpool before the deadline day

Piero Hincapie ( Bayern Leverkusen )

Journalist Ben Jacobs claims Bayern Leverkusen defender Piero Hincapie might join Liverpool before the deadline day this week.

According to Jacob’s X account, he shared an update on the Hincapie’s future speculations. Liverpool are already looking for a left-footed centre-back this summer.

Meanwhile, Reds picked up a historic victory against Newcastle United on Sunday as Darwin Nunez scored a brace from the bench. Virgil van Dijk was sent off in the first-half for a clumpsy tackle on Alexender Isak.

Liverpool needs to bring a centre-back as Ibrahima Konate is sidelined due to injury and both Joel Matip and Joe Gomez are out of form.

Jacob suggests that Hincapie is keen to join the Mersyside club but Liverpool is yet to bid for the centre-back. He said :-

“Centre-back wise I get a lot of questions about Hincapie.

“I’m still told from people close to the player that there has been no offer.

“Two Premier League clubs have been linked and have certainly made enquiries and the player, by the way, would be very open to a Liverpool move but I’m not aware of a Liverpool offer at this point.

“The other club is West Ham and they have obviously had a failed pursuit and I do think we can call him it that now, of Harry Maguire, so they are in the market for a centre-back as well.

“But I do think Liverpool will be very busy between now and the end of the window.”

Piero Hincapie is valued at £35m by the German outfit. Liverpool should act to fast to secure his services this week.
