ESPN pundit Shaka Hislop claims Liverpool No.1 Alisson Becker isn’t the best goalkeeper in the world football at the moment.
Alisson has been in brilliant form in past 18 months for Liverpool. Many in the footballing world claims he is the best shot-stopper in the planet currently.
However, as per former West Ham GK Shaka Hislop, Alisson isn’t the best man between the sticks. Speaking on ESPN FC, the pundit names top five footballer in the world currently. He said :-
“You know I have to throw a goalkeeper in there somehow, but even then, I’m struggling.
“For me, the best goalkeeper in the world is Thibaut Courtois but he’s out for the season or most of it. I think the best goalkeeper in the world for quite some time has been Manuel Neuer, but he went skiing and we all know what happened there.!
“Ter Stegen, who I probably would have had as third, is having as poor time right now as he has – certainly in a Barcelona shirt.
“So, Alisson is the standout goalkeeper, fit goalkeeper, in world football right now. But I’m not sure who else I can really see, which other goalkeeper I can really shoehorn in there somehow.”
Alisson has been in top form in this campaign
Despite Hislop dropping him out of his top place, Alisson has been in top notch form in this current campaign.
Speaking on The 2 Robbies podcast, pundit Robbie Earlie lauded the Brazillian for his brilliant display this season. Despite Liverpool’s poor run in previous campaign, Alisson played an important part in keeping Reds in the contention for Europa League.
Earlie praised the shot-stopper and said :-
“Alisson, by the way, has come up with two or three magnificent saves that many keepers in the league don’t get near to.
“His form recently; Newcastle away, brilliant save from Almiron; last weekend, brilliant save again. He’s back sharp, on top of his game, as the team were. I was so disappointed for Liverpool.”
