Pundit claims Darwin Nunez isn’t doing enough to perform well

Darwin Nunez

Pundit Jay Bothroyd claims Liverpool striker Darwin Nunez isn’t doing enough to perform well for the Mersyside club in future.

Supporters are now divide into two groups. One group stated that Nunez is an outstanding player and he’s just couple of steps away from being world-class. However, other group suggests that tha Uruguayan is a clumsy and wasteful player who cost too for Reds in last campaign.

One man who is not a fan of Nunez’s style of play is pundit Jay Bothroyd. Speaking on Sky Sports’ Saturday Special, the former footballer claims that the 24-year-old doesn’t justify the pricetag Liverpool payed last summer.

Bothroyd shared his views about Darwin Nunez:-

“For me he’s between a C and a D. When he has played he’s played the majority of games on the left, and when he has played as a striker I don’t think he’s played well. We spoke about missing chances, and he’s missed loads of chances. I know pricetags, at £80m, I’m expecting him to come in and score goals, but he hasn’t done it in the Premier League yet. He has to really work on his composure as a striker.”

After the joining the club last summer from Benfica FC, Nunez has been a average performer for Klopp’s side in last campaign. However, the £80m striker is now all charged up as he already shown good signs of form this season.

His two goals against Newcastle United might have changed the fortunes for Nunez in this campaign. The Uruguayan looks to justify his pricetag in this current campaign.
