Pundit Glen Hoddle praised James Maddinson for showcasing his real calibre at Tottenham Hotspur in this current campaign.
Speaking on Premier League Productions, Hoddle suggests Maddinson arrived late at the North-London club. The midfielder should have arrived 3 years ago as the pundit terms him as a “magical player”.
Maddinson in currently enjoying his time Spurs as he is showcasing good signs of form like never before. The 26-year-old had scored 2 goals and provided 5 assists so far in this current campaign.
Under Ange Postecoglou, Maddinson has touched new heights as he has been one of main player for Tottenham this season. Hoddle claims he always believed in Maddinson’s potentiality, since his time at Leicester City.
The pundit suggests he always believed that Maddinson is much than his other England team-mates. Middle said :-
“I always rated him.
“I felt Tottenham three years should have gone and got him with Harry (Kane) in the team.
“It always felt that he was ahead of players who were getting ahead of him in the England squad when he was at Leicester.
“With better players around him, and certainly in that England team, I think you would see the best and that’s coming out of him now. He has matured. He’s got three or four years where he is going to be at his peak.”

Pundit Glen Hoddle knew James Maddinson has got huge potential under his belt.
The way he has taken early pressure off Tottenham’s shoulder in this current campaign is quite commendable. Many thought that Spurs would struggle without Harry Kane, but that’s not the case.
Ange Postecoglou has done impressive job as Spurs are currently sitting at top of the Premier League table after first eight games.
