Pundit questioned James Maddison’s ability to succeed at Tottenham

Pundit Nigel Reo-Coker has questioned midfielder James Maddison’s ability to succeed in Tottenham Hotspur colours next season.

Speaking on the BBC Radio Five Live Football Daily Podcast, Reo-Coker was discussing Maddinson’s arrival at Tottenham in this transfer window. Pundit was excited about Maddison for Spurs, but he has some doubt on his ability.

Pundit questions his strength of character, claiming that he doesn’t know wheather Maddison will be ready for the pressure of playing for a club like Tottenham. Reo-Coker has some doubt in his mind.

Reo-Coker gave his opinion on the 26-year-old :-

“Maddison is a great signing, but does he really have that strength of character to understand what it takes to play for Tottenham? It’s a different type of pressure and there is a greater expectation, he’s coming as a difference maker, he has to take them to another level.

“He is a good signing if he performs week in week out, but my thing is this, does he have the character to handle that kind of pressure. How determined is he going to be to stay fit and stay healthy and perform week in week out.”

However Reo-Coker’s can’t be taken seriously as Tottenham are not the so called “big club”. With all due respect, Spurs aren’t Manchester City or Liverpool.

Maddison have done it all, which Spurs are trying to achieve in recent times. In his first three seasons with Foxes, they’ve finished above Tottenham and also won the FA Cup in 2021.

In our thought, Maddison is more than ready play for the Spurs next season.
