Pundit Shaka Hislop claims Alisson is not the best keeper in the world

ESPN Pundit Shaka Hislop says there are three keepers better than Liverpool man Alisson Becker. Former West Ham keeper Hislop was asked by ESPN FC to name his top five keepers in the world right now. Alisson has been in his best form since past 18 months or so. Though, Hislop said he felt compelled to put a keeper in, but could not justify.

You know I have to throw a goalkeeper in there somehow, but even then, I’m struggling,” said the pundit.

For me, the best goalkeeper in the world is Thibaut Cortouis. But he’s out for the season or most of it. I think the best goalkeeper in the world for quite some time has been Manuel Neuer. But he went skiing and we all know what happened there.”

Ter Stegen, who I probably would have had as third, is having as poor time right now as he has – certainly in a Barcelona shirt.

“So, Alisson is the standout goalkeeper, fit goalkeeper, in world football right now. But I’m not sure who else I can really see, which other goalkeeper I can really shoehorn in there somehow.”

However, for some it is a poor take by Hislop. The Brazilian has been a vital part of the Liverpool squad. He has been more than a goalkeeper for the Reds in the past few years. Surely the above mentioned have been great at some point or another still Alisson has been the most consistent in the past few months. Moreover, if Real Madrid or Bayern Munich get a chance to swap their keepers with him, they will happily accept the trade.
