Ravindra Jadeja says this is a good win for the team on beating Nepal by 10 Wickets in the Asia Cup Group stage match. India to face Pakistan on September 10 for the Super Four stage of the Asia Cup.
RAVINDRA JADEJA STATEMENT
Batting first, the Nepal team set up a score of 230 runs. Passing shower-like conditions arose in the middle of the game several times. Later, India got a revised target of 145 runs to chase in 23 overs. Team India’s opening batting pair Rohit Sharma and Shubman Gill brushed away the game from Nepal in 20.1 overs.
Rohit Sharma smashed 74 runs off 59 deliveries, whereas Shubman Gill scored 67 runs off 62 balls. Rohit Sharma was declared the Player of the Match.
Reacting to the win against Nepal, India’s well-known allrounder Ravindra Jadeja obliged the win and called it a good win. He further said that they were playing against Nepal for the first time and didn’t have any idea about their go-to shots. He also added that this big margin win will boost confidence in the squad.
In a video shared by BCCI, Ravindra Jadeja stated
“As a team, we won by 10 wickets, so the overall confidence is good. As a team, you need that win before the big games. This is a good win for the team. We were playing Nepal for the first time and did not know what shots they could play”
he further added
“Nepal were off to a great start, and we did not know about the strength of the team. We did not know about their go-to shots. Me and Kuldeep came and controlled the game as it is not easy to hit the spinners in the middle overs. I just concentrated on bowling stump to stump”
