Many football pundits believe that Reiss Nelson could become an important player for the Arsenal team. Reiss Nelson could be a big player if he stays at the club. Journalists claim that Mikel Arteta should retain the services of the player for the future. The young player have come up through the ranks of the Arsenal team. He have made 55 appearances for the team. However, Reiss Nelson did not have very good luck this season. His injuries hampered his game time at the Emirates. Nelson have made 7 appearances for the Gunners so far this season. He is yet to make an appearance after the World Cup. The young player is fit again and have made it to the bench in the match against Manchester City. However, his future is a bit uncertain at the Emirates.
Reiss Nelson could be a big player at Arsenal if he stays here
Alongside with lack of game time, Nelson’s contract situation with Arsenal is also a bit uncertain. His contract ends at the end of this season. Therefore it remains to be seen if Reiss Nelson signs another contract with Arsenal. Ryan Taylor commented on the Reiss Nelson situation. Taylor commented,
“For Nelson, I feel like he’s had a bad time with injury. But we saw against Nottingham Forest when he scored a brace that actually he could be a big player for Arsenal. And they do need that little bit of cover for Saka on the right. I know Trossard has come in.”
He further added,
“But I would keep Nelson. Unless there was a chance to maybe loan him to a Premier League club where he can play every week. Like a Brentford or Brighton, but again, I don’t feel like there’s a guarantee he would play.”
Reiss Nelson is a very talented player and have shown his qualities in the matches. But with his injury problems and contract expiring, one has to wonder whether Arsenal would offer him another contract. However, the player himself seems to be keen on staying.
