Alan Shearer and Gary Linekar praises Liverpool’s new signing Dominik Szoboszlai for his excellent display for Reds in this current campaign.
Szoboszlai joined the Mersyside club from German outfit RB Leipzig this summer. Since his debut, he has hit the deck running and supporters are going crazy about him recently.
Reds suprised many fans when they signed Szoboszlai for £60 million from Leipzig. The Hungarian international has been a brilliant player so far in his career, but nobody expected Liverpool to go for him this summer.
Jurgen Klopp’s motive to sign him this summer was a masterstroke by the German. Szoboszlai has already scored at Anfield this season. a
Shearer and Linekar are impressed with him. Speaking on the Rest is Football Podcast, Linekar said :-
“Szoboszlai has been getting rave reviews. I’ve been very impressed with him when he has played. Liverpool fans have been talking about their new Steven Gerrard.”
However, after hearing everything, Shearer said :-
“Sometimes it takes players time to settle – not this guy. He looks the real deal straight away.
“Everything about his game, what you need as a midfielder, energy, and he looks a class act. I know it’s very early but what we are seeing from him, I think, yeah, probably too early to be mentioning him in the same breath as Steven Gerrard. But, what a great start he has had to his career at Liverpool.”
Szoboszlai scored a thunderbolt against Leicester City in EFL Cup Third Round Draw. He has been fantastic for Reds in last 6 weeks at the club.
