Signed for £0, Liverpool Trent Alexander Arnold is now worth a huge £55m

Liverpool

Liverpool FC’s academy player Trent Alexander Arnold signed for £0 but is now worth a huge £55m sum. Before the arrival of Jurgen Klopp, Liverpool yearned for its past glory of the 70s and 80s. The only achievement for them since that time was the Europa league in 2001 and a miraculous Champions League victory in 2005.

After joining a Liverpool side lacking objective and drive, following his departure from Borussia Dortmund in 2015, Klopp started to work on the new mentality at Merseyside. Though even after all these, the end result remained the same. The Reds signed the likes of Mo Salah, Sadio Mane, Virgil Van Dijk, Roberto Firmino, Andy Robertson and others under Klopp. All these signings have paved the way for the success of Reds. Despite this, one of the most important arrival for Klopp was Trent Alexander-Arnold.

Why is Trent Alexander Arnold worth this much?

Alexander Arnold’s market value has taken a leap due to his ability on the ball and flair and is now worth £55m. According to Football Transfers, the right-back was believed to be worth around £7m at the time, and while the youngster was held in high regard, few could have predicted that seven years on he would stand as the most valuable of all positional peers worldwide. The Englishman has made 277 appearances for Liverpool and has registered 73 assists along with 16 goals in all competitions.

The 24-year old is a consistent performer. He even reached double figures of assists in 3 out of last 5 Premier League campaigns. Trent is surely pivotal for Klopp’s supplementation of gameplay. It is the emergence of Alexander-Arnold which has had the most profound influence in the shaping of the club’s proud Premier League campaigns over the past seasons.
