Spurs defender Micky van de Ven shares what his teammate James Maddinson told him before his debut at Tottenham Hotspur Stadium.

In Tottenham’s YouTube Channel, Van de Ven has been sharing insights of his new life at North-London. The 22-year-old joined from German outfit Wolfsburg for £43 million plus add-ons.

Since joining the club, Van de Ven has formed a formidable partnership with Cristian Romero at the back. Spurs are currently unbeaten in Premier League this season.

He made his debut against Brentford last month before making his home debut against Manchester United a week later. Spurs put on a brilliant display against Red Devils and ended the match 2:0.

Van de Ven shares what his teammate James Maddinson told him before his debut game for Spurs. He said :-

“This was my first [home] game

“You don’t really know what’s going to happen and it was against United and I spoke with Madders before.

“He was also like ‘This is a huge game for Tottenham against United’ and he’s like ‘Enjoy the moment’. Bissouma also came up to me and was like ‘Enjoy it’.

“Then we came out on the pitch and everyone was starting to sing and I was like ‘What is going on here?’

“It was amazing. You want to enjoy the moment so much but because you’re also in the focus of the game, you can’t really enjoy the moment.”

Thr Dutchman put on brilliant display against United but James Maddinson stole the show with a terrific performance in midfield. It was also Maddinson’s home debut as well after he joined the club this summer.
