Skipper Sushma Patel is delighted as India won Gold in the IBSA World Games. Indian women’s team beat Australia in the finale of the International Blind Sports Association(IBSA) World Games.

Skipper Sushma Patel is happy as India won Gold in the IBSA World Games. Indian women’s team beat Australia in the finale of the International Blind Sports Association(IBSA) World Games. Indian women’s cricket team clinched a first-edition victory, defeating Australia by nine wickets. The finale was on August 26th, Saturday at Edgbaston, Birmingham.

It was the first time this year that cricket made entrance to the International Blind Sports Association(IBSA) World Games. Australian Women’s team settled to score 115 with a loss of eight wickets in 20 overs. Besides, It was a rain-interrupted finale, where the DLS method played its part. Therefore, India eventually won the game by scoring 42 runs in 3.3 runs.

The victory delivered by the Indian women’s team will inspire several visually impaired individuals to participate in the game of cricket.

Further, skipper Sushma Patel stated:

“We are very happy to win this medal”

PM, Modi congratulated the Indian Women’s team Furthermore, he said on X:

Men’s team settle for silver

Men’s cricket team settled for silver after losing to Pakistan in the final encounter. Indian team scored 184 runs in 20 overs. Pakistan finished at 187 and eventually, won the game.

Further, Skipper Ajay Reddy stated

“We wanted to take another hold but it could not happen. Next series we will learn from our mistakes and come back”
