The latest news comes from the Chelsea camp where two young players have been reportedly told to try and find a new club. According to reports, Connor Gallagher and Trevoh Chalobah have been allowed to leave the club this summer. The decision comes after Mauricio Pochettino decided not to include the two players in his plans, going forward.

With multiple new signings coming in, it was already expected that Gallagher and Chalobah will have to fight for their playing time. Gallagher has been tipped for a move this summer for sometime now. After signing Caicedo and Lavia, Gallagher’s playing time is expected to decline. Even though he started Chelsea’s first game of the season, Mauricio doesn’t see him as a regular starter. It was also reported that Connor had made up his mind to leave the club very early this summer. Therefore, the manager’s latest decision will only further help him to make his desire possible.

On the other hand, Chalobah didn’t feature in Chelsea’s first two games due to an injury. Also with the new signing of Axel Disasi and Pochettino’s plans for the young Levi Colwill, Chalobah’s chances of playing regularly have declined a lot. Despite these two defenders, Chelsea also have Wesley Fofana, who is still due to return to action. Therefore, it seems quite clear that Chalobah’s position at Chelsea is quite uncertain. A move away from the Bridge might be the best solution for him as well as Chelsea.

Interest from multiple clubs expected for Connor Gallagher

Connor Gallagher is rated highly by a lot experts and managers in the Premier League. Some Chelsea ex-players have praised Gallagher on multiple occasions for his ability and ‘amazingwork rate in the midfield. Chelsea fans have also showed their support for Gallagher, demanding their club not to sell the player at any cost. Therefore, the manager’s latest descision will cause disappointment to the Chelsea fans. Gallagher’s display in Chelsea’s first two games was great. Fans even claimed that he was one of their best players in Chelsea’s defeat against West Ham.

As a result of his strong and consistent displays, multiple clubs are reportedly looking forward to sign Gallagher. Earlier last month, Sky Sports informed that West Ham had made a bid for Connor. The bid was worth £40m and was rejected by Chelsea. West Ham went onto sign James Ward-Prowse and Edson Alvarez, which might have ended their interest in Gallagher. However, it is reported that Crystal Palace still remain interested in signing Connor. It was at Palace only where Gallagher really made his mark. With Michael Olise expected to leave, Palace’s push to sign Gallagher might intensify due to this.

On the contrary, the future looks uncertain for Chalobah, difficult to move away from Chelsea

Trevoh Chalobah’s decline has been as quick as his rise. He emerged as a talented and a strong defender under Thomas Tuchel, during his time at Chelsea. However, since the German manager’s departure, Chalobah has ‘disappeared‘. He missed a lot of matches due injuries and even in the games he played, his performances were not good enough. It now appears as if the English defender has lost his confidence and comfort. Therefore, a move away from Chelsea might the ideal situation for Chalobah. However, a move this summer is expected to be a difficult task for Trevoh Chalobah.

The 24-year old recently picked up a hamstring injury which will keep him out of action for over a month. This is a huge blow for Trevoh as the transfer window closes in just under a week. Therefore, it seems highly likely that Chalobah might not be able to make a move this summer and will have to wait until January for a potential move.
