Thiago Alcantara Determined to Remain at Liverpool: A Fight to Stay

Liverpool

Liverpool’s £200k-a-week player, Thiago Alcantara, is resolute in his desire to stay at the club for the upcoming season, despite attracting interest from other clubs this summer.

According to Fabrizio Romano, who discussed the Spaniard on the Born and Red YouTube channel, Thiago is desperate to continue his career with Liverpool.

The summer has witnessed a midfield revolution at Liverpool, with four senior players, including Naby Keita and James Milner, departing at the end of the previous campaign.

To fill these gaps, Liverpool has already secured the signings of Alexis Mac Allister and Dominik Szoboszlai. However, their activity in the transfer market does not end there. As they are also pursuing Romeo Lavia and Khephren Thuram.

With ample time remaining in the transfer window, the situation may still evolve.

Rumblings have suggested that Thiago might be leaving Anfield during this transfer window. However, the Spanish midfielder is keen on remaining at Liverpool for the upcoming season. As he is genuinely content with the club.

Thiago has faith in his ability to secure substantial playing time, even with the influx of new players.

Nevertheless, Thiago’s ongoing challenge will be to maintain fitness, as injuries have plagued him throughout his career at Anfield.

Addressing the future of the £200,000-a-week playmaker, Romano affirmed,

“Honestly, I can assure you that Thiago truly wants to continue at Liverpool. He is genuinely happy and focused on Liverpool, without a doubt.”

Romano continued,

“The only way to alter this narrative is for Liverpool to inform Thiago that they want him to depart. However, as of now, this has not occurred, and they are content together.”

Consequently, the current situation surrounding Thiago Alcantara remains tranquil, with the expectation being that he will continue at Liverpool until the end of the season, possibly departing as a free agent at the conclusion of the following season.

Romano dismissed concrete evidence regarding rumors from Turkey and suggested that the rumors originating from Saudi Arabia held more weight. He explained that Saudi clubs approached Alcantara over a month ago to explore the possibility of his joining, to which Thiago responded, “I’m focused on Liverpool, I want to stay at Liverpool.”

Many Liverpool fans share the desire for Thiago to remain at the club, given his evident quality. However, if he struggles to maintain his fitness, it may be more beneficial to allocate his wages elsewhere, considering he is one of the club’s highest-paid players.

Liverpool will need to prepare for Thiago’s eventual departure, as he is now 32 years old. After experiencing significant changes already at Anfield. Klopp might prefer to avoid unnecessary upheaval this summer.
