Thiago doesn’t fit in this current Liverpool squad — Charlie Davies

Soccer Analyst Charlie Davies claims that Spanish midfielder Thiago Alcantara doesn’t fit in this current Liverpool squad.

Jurgen Klopp’s team have already lost many of their midfielders this summer. Liverpool have brought the likes of Alexis Mac Allister from Brighton Hove Albion and Dominik Szoboszlai from RB Liepzig to replace them but they’re in a urgent need of new defensive midfielder.

Saudi clubs lured Fabinho and Jordan Henderson away last month and the Reds looks quite volatile at the middle of the pitch with current roster. However, it will be quite difficult to judge them.

Davies claims Thiago is not fit enough to play in Premier League’s high tempo

Speaking to CBS, Davies claims that Thiago doesn’t have the fitness to be the key man in Klopp’s midfield next season.

Davies gave his verdict on the veteran Spanish international:-

“Who do you think is starting in the midfield? What is the best three? Because I think Thiago, he just doesn’t have the legs to cover the ground in the high press. That’s’ why he’s not seeing the playing time.”

At the age of 32, Thiago have now gone past his peak form. After a decade of high-class “footballing wizardry”, the Spaniard is starting to slow down due to fatigue.

However, that doesn’t rule him out of playing a massive role in Liverpool squad next season. He can emerge as a brilliant squad rotation option for Jurgen Klopp next season and his experience will be very usefull for all the youngsters around him.

A man of Thiago’s stature can be very fruitful for a team’s success specially when Liverpool are planning to overturn their bad run of form. Anyone cannot write off a player of his calibre.
