He may have been thinking back to his better days at Stamford Bridge. When he took to Instagram to wish former Blue Mason Mount a happy birthday.
Being a part of the team that lost to Middlesbrough in the first leg of the EFL Cup semi-final earlier this week probably marked the lowest point of Silva s tenure at the club.
The veteran quickly expressed regret to the supporters. Which prevented a situation from getting out of control on the away end.
Silva added the Champions League to his collection of personal trophies, In just a matter of years since joining Chelsea. An accomplishment that seemed unlikely to come his way during his remarkable career.
Mount was one of the players who was crucial to that run in 2021. But he left the team just two years later.

Among them was Silva, who posted it on his Instagram story along with a message to his former coworker.
He said: “Happy Birthday bro, miss you!”
More than most players, Mount had a difficult 2023 playing for two struggling teams, Manchester United and Chelsea.
To anyone who watched him in his prime at Stamford Bridge, it would have been unthinkable that he actually finished the year without scoring a goal.
