Thomas Partey missed the Arsenal clash against Manchester United

Arsenal was without their star player Thomas Partey in their clash against Manchester City. Thomas Partey picked up an injury that saw him missing out on the match. Arsenal played the match without the midfielder. The player was left out of the squad due to a tight muscle ahead of the match. Therefore Arsenal January signing Jorginho was expected to replace Partey. However, the Ghana international’s absence was hugely felt by the Gunners in the match. Arsenal lost the match to City in a 1-3 thumping from City. Arteta had revealed in the pre-match press conference that the player was not facing any new injury concerns. Thomas Partey was even spotted in the training before the match. The Gunners were hopeful that Erling Haaland will also not be available for the match. Pep Guardiola had said that he was unsure about the player.

Thomas Partey have proved to be a crucial player for the Gunners team this season. The team definitely struggled without the player in their match against City. However, the good news for the Gunners is that the injury doesn’t seem too serious. But the match have arose concerns about the difference between Thomas Partey and Jorginho. The performing attributes between both the players were very visible in the match. Party joins the long list of injured players. Elneny is another midfielder who is sidelined due to his injury. While Reiss Nelson and Emile Smith Rowe are on their way back from injuries. Gabriel Jesus remains on the sideline due to the injury he sustained in World Cup. Sambi Lokonga would have been the replacement for the midfielder but he joined Crystal Palace on a loan deal this transfer window.

Arsenal fans will be hoping to see Thomas Partey back on the pitch soon. The team relatively suffered without the midfielder in their match against City. The fans would be hopeful to see better performance from the Gunners team. As further defeat could cost them the League title.
