Tottenham are pushing to sign Edmond Tapsoba, after signing Maddinson

After signing James Maddinson this summer, Tottenham Hotspur are pushing to sign Edmond Tapsoba but the move is quite tough.

Speaking to Chris Collin on YouTube, CBS Sports reporter Ben Jacobs gave his verdict. He claimed that Spurs have opened talks to try and sign Edmond Tapsoba from Bayern Leverkusen.

However, Jacob also claims that Tottenham will have tough path in signing the defender because other clubs want him. The reporter highlighted that Spurs easily ended up of signing James Maddinson from Leicester City this week as Newcastle seemed to focus elsewhere.

Tapsoba is a quality defender for Leverkusen following his arrival in 2020 from Victoria Guimaraes. Tall, strong and very good with the ball and Tottenham believes he can lead their defence in years to come.

Reporter Ben Jacob shared his view and said :-

“Tapsoba is another possibility and it’s definitely true that Spurs have reached out to initiate those talks, I’m not personally aware of whether they have advanced in the last 24 or 48 hours but what I can confirm is that Spurs have begun those talks with Bayer Leverkusen.

“But the thing about Tapsoba to understand is just that there is a large volume of clubs in the race, so Tottenham are not going to have a clear path for this one, it’s not going to be like the Maddison deal and that might well lead to complications and also we have to understand the player’s desire and others may be reporting differently but I’m not aware of a player desire yet on this particular front.”

Tottenham really need to find a left-footed centre-back this summer as both Romero and Dier are all right footed defenders. Davies is not physically fit and Lenglet is heading back to Barcelona.
