West Ham United are currently speculating a move for Tottenham Hotspur star defender. Tottenham man Eric Dier can we a potential target for West Ham. This is according to the journalist Ben Jacobs. The English centre back is out of pecking order for Spurs too. Consequently, there maybe a possibility for this transfer to happen. Jacobs says that sources close to West Ham have been playing down these links though. However, he did note that Luton Town may be one of the clubs taking a look as well.
“Eric Dier is free to leave, it’s as simple as that, Tottenham are thinking about getting the salary off the books, that’s the concern there. There have been West Ham links and I don’t want to pour cold water on them, but they have been downplayed by sources close to West Ham, but the interest is legitimate enough. The other interesting bit of information I received a couple of days ago is that Luton Town could be one of the clubs taking a look as well, so keep an eye on that one, you’ve heard that first here.”
Although Hammers are denying the links, there will soon be a space for a defender in their squad. Thilo Kehrer is up for a move to French side Monaco. Indeed, Eric is a David Moyes type player.
