Napoli man Victor Osimhen is considering to sue the club after “unacceptable” social media video. Napoli released a video mocking their striker on their official TikTok account. Moreover, his agent Roberto Calenda also indicates to take legal steps.
Victor Osimhen helped Napoli to their first Scudetto victory over 30 years period last season. The Nigerian fired 31 goals across all competitions for Italian side in the previous campaign. Moreover, he has registered three goals in five matches this season as well. However, he was targeted in a bizzare video posted on club’s social media on Tuesday. The video centered a goalless draw against Bologna on Sunday in which Osimhen missed a crucial penalty. It was a rare miss by the striker that proved out to be the decisive moment.
The video showed Victor blasting his effort off target and then abruptly ending. Though, Napoli are yet to acknowledge the clip which got removed eventually. However, Roberto Calenda points that Osimhen is considering a legal action against his club in an extreme circumstance. Calenda said on Tuesday,
“What happened today on Napoli’s official profile on the TikTok platform is not acceptable. A video mocking Victor was first made public and then, but now belatedly, deleted.”
The FIFA agent added: “A serious fact that causes very serious damage to the player and adds to the treatment that the boy is suffering in the last period between media trials and fake news. We reserve the right to take legal action and any useful initiative to protect Victor.”
The ridiculous event comes amid the links of victor with Manchester United along with other clubs. Moreover, Victor did not sign a contract renewal with Napoli previously, with his current spell running out in the summer of 2025.
