Wataru Endo will just be a squad player – Graeme Souness

Wataru Endo

Former footballer and pundit Graeme Souness claims Liverpool new signing Wataru Endo will just be a squad player in this campaign.

The Mersyside club signing Endo this summer was a complete suprise. He joined the club to fill the void left by Fabinho, who joined Al-Ettifaq in this transfer window.

Many sources in Germany suggests that the Japanese international is quite underrated. Endo is not a household but he might be affective for Reds this season.

However, Graeme Souness is not having much expectation from Endo this season. Speaking on The Mirror, the pundit claims that the 30-year-old will just be a squad player for Liverpool.

Souness stated his view on Wataru Endo :-

“I think another central midfield player, Endo, for the money they played, it would suggest he’s going to be a squad player. He’s not going to come in and be a difference maker, but saying that Caicedo, one year in the Premier League £100m? That’s a hell of a gamble.”

Acquiring Endo this summer might be a gamble by Klopp and Co. Liverpool needs a certain midfield depth and he will provide that backup for the club.

Sometimes players with low profile are not taken seriously by the footballing world. However, these players some times change the course of the match with their presence on the field.

Wataru Endo certainly looks like a player who has nothing to loose at Anfield this campaign. He will look to give his 100% when his team will need his services in future.
