“We’ll continue this aggressive approach”: KL Rahul

India’s top order batter KL Rahul opened up about the new approach that India has adopted. This new approach was a consequence of the early exit from T20 WC last year. Moreover, the batter expressed the importance of playing with freedom. The opening batter didn’t have a best of the series in Zimbabwe where he captained the team to a 3-0 win. The batter only had a score of 1 and 30 in the two innings he played.

However, KL Rahul has been very impressive against the teams in IPL. Rahul was the second highest run-scorer in the tournament. The batter made 616 runs in 15 matches that he played for team Lucknow Super Giants. Rahul was out of touch with cricket due to an injury and returned to the squad on the Zimbabwe tour. Now, the batter will be seen opening the batting innings along with the skipper in Asia Cup.

This is what the team and the captain needed at the moment: KL Rahul

Rahul while talking during an interview spoke about the new approach. The batter has been getting a lot of awards and praises with the new form.

“This new approach, we’d spoken about it much before when I was part of the team early on in the year as well and just after the [2021 T20] World Cup. Last season we had spoken about what we need to improve individually and how as a team we try to be more aggressive and put the bowlers under pressure by going out there and playing with a lot of authority, freedom, and aggression, So I was there when that happened. Unfortunately, I have not been able to play too many T20Is since then, but we have played the IPL, and I played with the same approach, trying to see how with that same approach, I can be consistent and still contribute to the team. I haven’t played since the last two three months, and that is a challenge for me, one I am looking forward to.”
