West Ham United may have an opportunity to sign Hugo Ekitike

West ham

West Ham can have an opportunity to sign Hugo Ekitike from PSG in the winter transfer window. The French striker was heavily linked with the East London club during the recent summer transfer. However, a move was never secured. It was suggested that the French champions wanted him to be a part of Eintracht Frankfurt. Despite this, as per Pete O’Rourke, PSG have “accepted” the departure of the 21-year old Frenchman, he wrote for Football Insider.

West Ham need a player like Ekitike?

West Ham have always had difficulties with bringing a right striker for their squad over the past few years. With players like Sebastian Haller and Scamacca failing to shine for the Hammers, it may look to be a crucial signing for them. Infact, a large of strikers have failed to impress for the London Stadium. Only Michail Antonio has been brilliant over the years in the position. Though, he also lacks that killer instinct required to be a top striker. All this suggests how important it is a signing for West Ham of Hugo Ekitike.

The 21- year old, during his time with Reims, scored 11 goals and got four assists as well in 28 games. For a player of his age, these stats look impressive as their is only uphill after this. The young striker definitely has potential and flair to a renowned striker. Unfortunately, he has only played a total of 8 minutes this season for PSG. Moreover, the fans at West Ham will hope to have their curse broken by the Frenchman signing for them and become a sensation.
