The long-awaited decision between India wicketkeeper Wriddhiman Saha and the Cricket Association of Bengal has finally come to a close.

The state association finally decided to give Saha an NOC to join the Tripura Ranji team.

This decision has led to many heartbreaks both for the keeper and the CAB.

Saha will now be the mentor-cum-skipper of the Tripura team in the Ranji Trophy.

The controversy started when CAB’s joint secretary Debabrata Das raised questions about Saha’s commitment to CAB.

After the decision, Saha did not show much emotion but looked fairly disappointed.

Tripura Cricket Association’s Kishore Das welcomed Saha into their fold.

He said that Saha will join the team next week.

The TCA had an Apex Council meeting where all the members had a talk with Saha yesterday.

Kishore Das also wants to highlight Tripura so that more players from the state go on to play for India.

Sammer Dighe is the head coach of the team and is also a former keeper like Saha.

Previously, Saha was also linked to the Gujarat and Baroda cricket associations as he was a part of the Gujarat Titans in this year’s IPL.

The veteran wicketkeeper has so far played 40 Tests and 9 ODIs for India.

But, he did not get a place in the team after Rahul Dravid became head coach.

The reason cited for this was that there are a lot of youngsters and that Saha’s services are no longer needed.

Saha has also played 122 first-class games as well as 102 List A games.
