Australia’s ace pacer Mitchell Starc is planning to return to the Indian Premier League(Ipl) contest after missing it for eight years. Starc expressed his willingness to return to the tournament next year. Mitchell Starc debuted in 2014 for RCB in the Ipl. He played 27 matches in total for the RCB. He has a total of 34 wickets in the Ipl. His best figures were 4/15 against Kings XI Punjab(now Punjab Kings) in 2015.

In addition, the Australian Pacer emphasized Ipl as the opportunity for beneficial rehearsal before the T20 World Cup. Moreover, he was absent from this well-known short format of cricket for a long time. Starc’s dedication was more towards the test format cricket and playing for his country, Australia. However, Mitchell Starc’s current Wishlist is to appear in the Ipl.

In a chat with the Willow Talk Cricket Podcast, Mitchell Starc stated

“Look, it’s been eight years. I’m definitely going back in [next] year”

he further added

“So a good opportunity to see if anyone’s interested in the IPL, then lead into the T20 World Cup. And it’s somewhat of a quiet winter next year…in comparison to this winter, so I think a perfect opportunity to put my name in”

“I try not to look too far ahead with anything, not just get to 100 [Tests], I’d like to be good enough to be picked for 100 Tests, and then you look at the one-day format, it’s sort of four years in between World Cups, so where do I see myself in that mix? But I’ve got to get to the end of this World Cup first”
