Abde set for contract renewal with FC Barcelona

Fc barcelona Memphis depay

Abdessamad “Abde” Ezzalzouli is a winger for the Barcelona team. He mostly plays for the Barcelona B team. However last year, owing to a few injuries to forwards on the senior side, he was handed his professional debut. With this, he became the first Moroccan-born player to feature for Barcelona’s first team. He even scored his first goal for Barcelona in a 2-2 draw against Osasuna.

Abde arrived from Hercules for a fee of two million euros. It was certain that he was going to play in the reserve team only. However, injuries in the starting XI meant he was handed a start. He was an integral player in the initial stages for Barcelona, starting 10 games and scoring a goal. However, the arrival of Aubameyang, Ferran Torres, and Traore changed things for Abde. His playing time reduced and he fell down the pecking order. Now, with the arrival of Raphinha and re-signing of Ousmane Dembele, it seems unlikely that he will get much game time.

Barcelona set to renew Abde’s contract despite the arrival of new forwards

The contract extension means Abde will stay with Barcelona till 2026. He is currently in the United States with the first team. The player has managed to impress Xavi this season. However, given the quality of arrivals to the squad, it is unlikely that he will be getting much game time this season. He will most likely leave on a loan this season to another club

Abde could likely go to Sevilla this season. He likes the coach Julen Lopetegui and director Mochi. This could also help Barcelona in their pursuit of Kounde. This swap and cash deal could help Barcelona immensely in reducing the asking price of Sevilla for Jules Kounde. Sevilla are currently asking for €60 million for the player and Chelsea are leading the race to sign him this summer
