AC Milan will sign a new midfielder after weeks of speculation and negotiations. Milan had set their eyes on Renato Sanches as the main target for the midfield. However, Sanches joined PSG putting an end to months of uncertainty with AC Milan. Milan have decided on young prospects to shore up their midfield. One such young prospect is Aster Vranckx of Wolfsburg.

Vranckx is a Belgian national of Congolese descent. He made his professional debut in the 2019 Belgian Super Cup as a 38th-minute substitute for Mechelen in a match against Anderlecht. However, he had his breakthrough in the team in 2020 January. He scored one and assisted two in six appearances for the Mechelen. The 20-year-old started the majority of Mechelen’s games in 2020/21. Then he moved to Wolfsburg on a permanent four-year deal.

Milan have made an offer to Wolfsburg

According to Calciomercato, Milan have made an offer for Vranckx to Wolfsburg. Milan have proposed a loan deal with a fee of €1M. Moreover, Milan also want the deal to include an obligation to buy contract worth €12M in total. Vranckx is the priority signing of Paolo Maldini and Ricky Massara in this transfer window. Moreover, the report has also stated that Vranckx is pushing to join Milan this summer. Multiple clubs have expressed their interest in signing the player this season. Everton and Lille were interested in signing the player this season. However, the interest has cooled down since then and it looks like Milan will sign the player.

Ac Milan lost one of their most creative midfielders in Frank Kessie to Barcelona this summer. Consequently, they were in dire need of new replacements in the midfield. Milan acquired the services of Divock Origi, and Charles De Ketelaere as reinforcements in the midfield this season. Also, Milan have completed the signing of young Schalkke defender Malik Thiaw.
