Ajax manager Alfred Schreuder has expressed his desire to keep Antony at the club beyond the summer transfer window. This statement comes amid rumors of a potential Manchester United move.
The manager is hopeful of the player staying at the club one more season. However, the Brazil international wants a reunion with Erik Ten Hag at Manchester United .

United have so far failed to meet the Dutch’s club valuation so far. However, another report claims the winger has agreed personal terms with Manchester United. The report also states Erik Ten Hag has already explained to him his role and the project he wants to build at the club. It also claims Ten Hag is pushing the Manchester United top hierarchy to increase their bids for the Brazilian international.
The price for the winger quoted by Ajax for him is 70million euros. However, the winger reportedly thinks the valuation is too high. Another report also claims the first United bid for the winger has been already rejected. The bid sent was reportedly around 59million euros. However, negotiations between both the clubs are still going on. Manchester United are expected to make a second bid.
AJAX BOSS DOES NOT WANT THE CLUB TO SELL ANOTHER KEY PLAYER
Ajax boss Alfred Schreuder has said he wants to retain the services of the 22-year-old. The Dutch giants have already lost a number of key players in the first team. Speaking publicly on the Antony rumors he said, ” No, no. We have sold a certain amount of players and I am expecting nobody else to leave.”We talk on a daily basis. It would be very bad for us if we would lose another starting player.”
The new manager who will replace Erik Ten Hag this season was referring to the sales of a number of important players. It included the sales of Sebastian Haller, Lisandro Martinez, Ryan Gravenberch, and Noussair Mazraoui. Nicolas Tagliafico is also on the verge of joining Lyon. Meanwhile, Antony was also linked with the likes of Chelsea and Liverpool.
Although, the interest of Manchester United remains the strongest one. Antony had an excellent 2021-22 campaign with Ajax. The Brazil international scored 12 goals and provided 8 assists in 33 appearances across all competitions. His impressive record and great all-round play makes him one of the best winger in Europe.
