Ajit Agarkar calls Kuldeep Yadav India’s trump card ahead of the World Cup 2023. Kuldeep Yadav recently showcased his performance in the Asia Cup 2023.

AJIT AGARKAR ON KULDEEP’S COMEBACK

Kuldeep Yadav bagged the Player of the Series award in the Asia Cup. However, the left-arm unorthodox spin bowler isn’t a part of the first two matches for the approaching three-match ODI series against Australia. The bowler has been given a rest from the upcoming series for the first two games. Furthermore, the left-arm spinner seized nine wickets from four innings with an average of 11.4 and an economy of 3.61.

BCCI(Board of Control for Cricket in India) chief selector Ajit Agarkar expressed his opinion on Kuldeep Yadav’s comeback. In addition, he also referred to Kuldeep Yadav as a trump card for the Indian team.

In a press conference, Ajit Agarkar stated

“I have spent a couple of years along with in the IPL, he is a guy with special skill set and he is showing that on the field right now. He is one of India’s trump card right now. Clearly, most teams are finding him as a challenge at this moment”

The Squad for the upcoming series against Australia includes India’s ace spinner Ravichandran Ashwin. Ashwin is returning to the ODI cricket after almost 20 months before the World Cup. In addition, apart from Ashwin, Washington Sundar is also part of the Indian side. However, Sundar is part of the team as a backup of Axar Patel. Axar Patel quadriceps strain during the India vs. Bangladesh match caused him to miss the Asia Cup finale.

Moreover, apart from Kuldeep Yadav, skipper Rohit Sharma, Hardik Pandya, and Virat Kohli will also rest from participating in the first two games in the upcoming series vs. Australia.
