Former Newcastle United legend Alan Shearer was in full praise for Arsenal’s £100m target Evan Ferguson. Shearer lauds Evan Ferguson for his brilliant goal against Nottingham Forest on Sunday. He was amazed by his first touch and finishing. The Gunners have been linked with the Irish international previously as well. However, Brighton are aiming for a deal of worth £100m atleast. Owing to his match winning performance on Sunday, Shearer said,
“This is a wonderful touch by Evan Ferguson to set himself up and then just to guide it into the corner there.”
Although he is not much used this season, it is clear why many clubs are speculating the possibility fir his move in future. The striker is composed and calm in front of the sticks more than his other age fellows. He is also physically strong and cannot be bullied easily. Though, his market price will surely be a challenge for any club looking for him. Ferguson has only made 32 Premier League appearances so far but is already established as a talented star.
The price set by Brighton maybe too high to justify him this early though. It will surely be a gamble at the moment to sign him. Moreover, Mikel Arteta is known to be bold with his signings like Kai Havertz . But with the likes of Alan Shearer praising the young man, it can be a possibility that clubs will come for him in future. The hunt for a striker at The Emirates Stadium is still on with many other names as well. Furthermore, there is still plenty of time for Arsenal to think about the options to bolster their choices. They currently sit on first in the league after a late Havertz winner on Sunday evening.
