Another Liverpool transfer target claims he wants to join Chelsea after Caicedo and Lavia

Liverpool

After tempting Moises Caicedo and Romeo Lavia away from Liverpool in the summer, Chelsea may do the same thing with Patrick Dorgu.

Caicedo and Lavia were the Reds’ top two midfield targets during the summer transfer window. They bet much on each of them, but the two players chose Chelsea over Jurgen Klopp and moved there instead. Soon, history could repeat itself.

Patrick Dorgu of Leece is sought after by a number of teams, including Liverpool. The 18-year-old exhibits incredible talent. At the beginning of this season, he made his Serie A debut for Leece. But things may have turned out quite differently if his agent hadn’t stepped in during the summer.

Kingsley Ogbodo, Dorgu’s agent, said in June that Liverpool had a genuine interest in signing him after seeing him play. He added that Barcelona and Manchester City were also considering signing him. Ogbodo, however, claims that he told his young client to reject Liverpool since doing so would limit his playing opportunities to the U23s rather than the first team.

Patrick Dorgu, a Liverpool target, claims that his dream team is Chelsea

Liverpool, Manchester City, and Barcelona are still reportedly keeping an eye on young Dorgu. But the defender has his sights set on another Premier League club. He has openly said that his desire is to play for Chelsea.

Dorgu spoke with Ekstra Bladet. He said

“Chelsea is my dream to play for. I’ve been a fan of them for over ten years, so playing for them would be a huge dream.”

The last thing Liverpool supporters would want to happen is for another of their targets to sign with Chelsea.

The Reds came incredibly close to signing Moises Caicedo in the summer. They had an agreement with Brighton and Hove Albion, who had given the Ecuadorian permission to visit Anfield for a medical. But just when the transfer seemed to be a formality, Caicedo changed his mind and said that Chelsea was the only team he wanted to join instead of Liverpool. Romeo Lavia quickly followed suit, delivering Klopp’s team a devastating blow.

Although Liverpool made a strong comeback in the window, many of their supporters still find it annoying to recall those wild few days.
