Anthony Gordon appreciated the chelsea star Noni Madueke

Newcastle United and England star Anthony Gordon spoke out on social media last night to applaud one Chelsea player’s performance against Tottenham.

Chelsea secured an important 2-0 home victory over Spurs on Thursday evening in the Premier League.

Despite inconsistent form this season, the Blues completed a league double over their London rivals.

Mauricio Pochettino’s side now have four games left in the 2023/24 campaign to try jump up into the European spots, with Newcastle and Manchester United in their sights.

Newcastle winger Anthony Gordon, 23, respected what he saw from a Premier League counterpart last night.

He hailed the individual display of Chelsea’s Noni Madueke versus Spurs.

Blues winger Madueke, 22, celebrated his side’s latest success with an Instagram post.

He received two-word praise in the comment section, who’s played alongside him before with England at various youth age groups.

Anthony Gordon is happy to see how Noni Madueke is improving

Chelsea fans are definitely starting to see Madueke’s career at Stamford Bridge start to find some real momentum, which has coincided with a lot more game time and trust in 2024.

The right-winger has now started five consecutive matches in the Premier League.

Yes, the decimation of injuries in the squad has aided Madueke’s cause. However, the right-winger, who loves to drift infield on his favoured left foot, is seizing the moment with some impactful displays.

The £29m attacker (Sky Sports) put in an eye-catching display against Spurs.

His busy display included five dribbles, two key passes and two tackles (WhoScored).

This was the first time that he has been involved in three goals in a single Premier League game and he now has more goal involvements than anyone in home matches this season. It should be enough for Gareth Southgate to take him away to Germany this summer.

But this Newcastle win owed as much to Eddie Howe’s tactics as any individual performer. It was impressive how he was able to nullify Tottenham’s build-up play through their inverted full-backs, even changing his own team’s defensive shape to do exactly that.
