According to Fichajes, Antonio Conte has demanded Paratici for signing Weston McKennie. The 23-year-old US international made his debut at Juventus under Pirlo. However, he has struggled to get some game time under Massimiliano Allegri. The Italian boss prefers Adrien Rabiot, Rodrigo Bentancur, and Manuel Locatelli over McKennie. Still, Weston McKennie is reputed at the club because of his high intensity and aggression. However, Allegri doesn’t see that in his plans and is open to selling McKennie in the winter transfer window.

Antonio Conte was appointed as the manager of Tottenham following the sacking of Nuno Espirito Santo. Spurs were underperforming under Santo and were quick to replace him. They currently sit 9th on the table and have a season to turnover. In addition to that, Antonio Conte has reportedly requested the board for the signing of Weston McKennie. Conte wants to succeed wherever he goes although he needs a good budget and support from the club too. Fabio Paratici is committed to giving Conte what he wants which makes them a perfect match.

McKennie is considered to be one of the most talented young players in the world, and very few clubs would decline his signing. His talent and skill can profit Juventus to get the maximum out of the deal. McKennie’s role in midfield is very important and his intensity can compliment the intensity of the Premier League.

Why Antonio Conte wants McKennie?

McKennie’s aggressive style of play, combined with his attacking mindset makes him a different midfielder than what Spurs already have. He is also an excellent ball carrier and can be an excellent box-to-box player. On the other hand, he can also play as a right midfielder. This is a benefit as he can play in two positions in Conte’s midfield and also act as a 4th substitute. His versatility in the middle of the park is one of his key features.

While Tottenham can get him for a bargain in the winter transfer window. At the age of 23, Antonio Conte can mould McKennie into an even better player as he has done with Nico Barella. Tottenham’s midfield has been weak on many occasions. His versatility can give them another way of dealing with opposition if he has a good partner beside him. His aggressiveness will prevent other midfielders to walk over the Spurs’ midfield. Conte is also known for his ability to get the best out of his signings, if he gets McKennie running then he has a real gem in his hands.

Why this deal is beneficial for both parties?

Massimiliano Allegri does not see McKennie in his plans. The 23-year-old midfielder has also struggled to get in the starting 11 often. Antonio Conte’s interest in McKennie is because he has a different profile from other Spurs midfielders. In addition, he can start more regularly under Conte than at Juventus. Bianconeri will also profit from the deal financially and get funds for their other important transfers. The Italian manager will make sure that he gets the best out of him. It also lies on McKennie to grab this opportunity to make full use of it.
