Arsenal are reportedly preparing bids for Martin Zubimendi and Edson Alvarez for the next summer transfer window. The Gunners were also monitoring their situation in the January transfer window.

However, they could not afford to sign them in the January transfer window. Hence, the Gunners ended up signing Italian midfielder Jorginho from Chelsea.

ARSENAL WERE DESPERATE TO SIGN A MIDFIELDER IN THE JANUARY TRANSFER WINDOW

According to reports, Arsenal desperately wanted to sign a midfielder in the January transfer window. However, Mikel Arteta had to wait till the deadline day to get his midfielder signing. They tried to sign Moises Caicedo from Brighton. However, the Seagulls made it clear that their star midfielder was not for sale in the January transfer window. Therefore, in the end, they ended their pursuit with two failed bids. There were also rumours of the third bid on the deadline day.

However, the third bid from Arsenal never arrived. Hence, Moises Caicedo will now stay with Brighton. Therefore, in the end they ended up signing Jorginho from Chelsea. They managed to sign him because his contract was expiring in the next summer. Another reason is also because the Blues managed to sign Enzo Fernandez on the deadline day for 105 million. Hence, they sold Jorginho for 12 million to balance their financial books.

THE GUNNERS ARE SHOWING INTEREST IN EDSON ALVAREZ AND MARTIN ZUBIMENDI

According to reports, Arsenal also tried to sign Edson Alvarez or Martin Zubimendi in the January transfer window. However, they could not get either of these over the line due to different reason. However, they are not going to easily back out of the deals. The Gunners are going to try to sign either one of them in the next summer transfer window. However, it is also clear that both the deals will cost the Gunners over 60 million each for the player.

The Gunners are also taking close interest in Declan Rice and Moises Caicedo for the next summer transfer window. Hence, it is clear that the Gunners want to sign a star midfielder in the next summer transfer window. A report also claims that the Arsenal owners are again prepared to sanction over 200 million for the next summer transfer window. However, they will also look to sell a number of fringe players in the next summer transfer window. They will also hope to extend the contracts of a number of their young star players.

However, at the moment, the priority for the club and the owners is to challenge for the Premier League and the Europa League trophy this season. They will also help that their three new January signings add squad depth to their team and help them win trophies under the positive management of Mikel Arteta.
