They managed to sign him because his contract was expiring in the next summer. Another reason is also because the Blues managed to sign Enzo Fernandez on the deadline day for 105 million. Hence, they sold Jorginho for 12 million to balance their financial books.
THE GUNNERS ARE SHOWING INTEREST IN EDSON ALVAREZ AND MARTIN ZUBIMENDI
According to reports, Arsenal also tried to sign Edson Alvarez or Martin Zubimendi in the January transfer window. However, they could not get either of these over the line due to different reason. However, they are not going to easily back out of the deals. The Gunners are going to try to sign either one of them in the next summer transfer window. However, it is also clear that both the deals will cost the Gunners over 60 million each for the player.
The Gunners are also taking close interest in Declan Rice and Moises Caicedo for the next summer transfer window. Hence, it is clear that the Gunners want to sign a star midfielder in the next summer transfer window. A report also claims that the Arsenal owners are again prepared to sanction over 200 million for the next summer transfer window. However, they will also look to sell a number of fringe players in the next summer transfer window. They will also hope to extend the contracts of a number of their young star players.
