Arsenal may shift their whole focus on signing Declare Rice in the summer. Gunner chief Edu Garcia will be under great pressure to sign the Englishman.

Arteta’s side already dealt a blow as their long-term target Moises Caicedo has signed a new deal with Brighton. It means that chief Edu Garcia has now left with one option and West Ham Captain Declan Rice is under his radar.

The Gunners chased Caicedo in January and has three bids rejected by the Seagulls. Brighton put on a firm price tag of £90 million. However, Arsenal made a bid of £75 million including add-ons. Caicedo now signed a new contract, which will expire in 2027 with an option for a further year. Now, Arsenal needs to focus on other targets which include Rice.

Edu Garcia has already proven himself in the transfer market earlier as he signed star players Gabriel Martinelli and Martin Odeegard for a bargain price. Both have been absolutely brilliant for Arsenal this season. And it appears now the Brazilian need to find a midfielder for Arteta’s squad for next season.

Rice has emerged as the possible candidate to take Thomas Partey place in midfield as their is concern over his fitness in the future. The 24-year-old player is a constant performer for West Ham in Premier League. Now, that Caicedo is out of the picture, Arsenal may shift their focus into Rice. His contract is expiring in 2024 and England internal yet to sign a new contract. West Ham will seek around £100 million for the midfielder.

Edu has the chance to pounce and make for the disappointment of missing out on Moises Caicedo in January.
