According to The Sunday Post, Kieran Tierney could be set to leave Arsenal if Real Madrid plays their cards right. Mikel Arteta has given a green signal to Tierney’s departure if Los Blancos offer a deal as demanded by the London club. Not only Real Madrid but the Catalan club Barcelona are also interested in signing the Scottish defender.

Real Madrid is prepared to offer a £50 million bid in order to sign the Arsenal left-back. The Gunners paid £25 million to Celtic to acquire the services of the 24-year-old. The report adds that Arsenal will allow Tierney to leave if they get a big enough bid. However, the move will be shocking considering how important Tierney has been for Arsenal in recent years.

That could be a huge loss for the Gunners as they will also have to look for a proper replacement for such an important player. Arsenal already has one of the best talents in the Premier League in that position. Therefore, they should not settle for less than the required amount of money. Kieran Tierney has been one of Arsenal’s best creators from the left-hand side who could help them achieve more in the future.

Real Madrid currently has Ferland Mendy as their left-back and Marcelo also. However, the Italian boss preferred to start Nacho as a left-back over Marcelo in the absence of Mendy in the El Clasico. Real Madrid clearly struggled from that side of the pitch. The European giants could have used some help from another backup left-back in such an important match.

Why Real Madrid is ready to break the bank for Kieran Tierney?

As previously established, Real Madrid lacks that backup left-back who is also capable of playing against the strongest of teams. Vinicius Junior has been fabulous for Madrid this season and only Benzema has been partnering him in the attack this season. The Brazilian can thrive even more if he has a good partner going forward on his side.

Kieran Tierney has the playing style of a modern-day full-back. He likes to contribute to the attack and also falls back very well if his team is caught off-guard. Moreover, he is also an aggressive player which is always a bit healthy in the big games. He has the required pace to go up and down his flank offering support in both areas.

In addition, he can also be a good finisher at times since he has a good shot in him. However, he does have to improve his aerial duels and tackling. He does not usually dive into tackles but likes to stay on his feet. Therefore, his game consists more of clearances and less of tackles. He is a great option to provide width to the gameplay as he hugs the touchline while the winger cuts inside.

Kieran Tierney has become a crucial part of the team and it seems very unusual to see him play for another team. However, if Real Madrid is willing to break the bank Kieran Tierney might even challenge Mendy to be the first choice left-back. He has the potential to be one of Europe’s best and could achieve that with the help of the European giants.
