Former Arsenal midfielder Jack Wilshere having joined Danish side Aarhus Gymnastikforening was once again pictured at the club’s training center. The free-agent was training with the Arsenal first-team since November last year to make his comeback. While it was speculated that he will join Arsenal in January, Wilshere instead was signed by Aarhus Gymnastikforening. Arsenal manager Mikel Arteta had already distanced himself and the club from any rumors which indicated that Wilshere will sign a full-time contract with the Gunners.

Despite the 30-year-old’s injury-ridden spell, Aarhus finally entrusted Wilshere with another opportunity when they signed him in February. Wilshere now has made his debut for the Danish side, but was still spotted at London Colney. Academy talent Omar Rekik uploaded the pic of Jack Wilshere from Arsenal’s training center which has baffled many.

Jack Wilshere back at Arsenal training center

Omar Rekik posted Wilshere’s photo from London Colney through his official Instagram account. Rumors began to fly as soon as the picture was out. Some might have even already speculated that Jack Wilshere has returned to Arsenal. However, Football London’s Chief Arsenal reporter Chris Wheatley re-posted the picture but offered no explanation. Wheatly shared the picture through his official Twitter handle, but even he too had no idea about Wilshere’s presence at London Colney.

Jack Wilshere could be spotted in the Arsenal training facility with a new, blonde hairstyle. The midfielder might have just come along to collect his things as he looks to settle in Denmark. A return is nowhere near possible for Wilshere as he has already made his Superligaen debut.

An offbeat start for Wilshere at Aarhus

However, Wilshere’s spell at Aarhus took off to quite a turbulent start. The midfielder came on for Aarhus in their dramatic 3-2 loss at the hand of Vejle BK. Despite coming off the bench in the 90th minute. Wilshere got to play a bemusing 19 minutes of stoppage time. Incidentally, a technical problem with the stadium’s floodlights forced the 19 minutes of stoppage time. Vejle exploited the lengthy stoppage time and scored the winner in its 10th minute.

Jack Wilshere had earlier expressed his disappointment when Arsenal didn’t offer him a professional contract. Though Mikel Arteta thanked Wilshere for making a positive influence on the first team, the manager remained preferred not to speak about signing Wilshere.

Wilshere while speaking to the Under the Surface podcast explained how he found it awkward not being signed despite training with the Arsenal first-team for months. “I have a 10-year-old son who is crazy about football, he loves it, and he watches the news on Sky Sports News,” Wilshere said. “He understands football, but it is very difficult to tell him about it. It is difficult to explain to him what is going on. He always asks me if I already have a club or if someone loves me, and I say no. I think that’s all I can tell him. I have to be honest with him.”
