Arsenal captain Martin Odegaard missed their clash against Sporting Lisbon due to an illness. However he did travel with the squad to Portugal, but was later deemed too unfit to play. It therefore remains to be seen if he will be fit for the match against Fulham. Mikel Arteta had commented, “In other moments we had total control of the game and we lost a little bit of threat today, especially with the four players we are missing in our frontline (Odegaard, Jesus, Trossard and Nketiah).” Another player who Arsenal are desperately waiting for is Gabriel Jesus. Jesus suffered an injury at the World Cup and have since been recovering from the injury. He also had his knee surgery done after returning from the World Cup. Furthermore the player is now gradually planning his return to the pitch.

The manger shared, “We will try not to rush him back, we will try to make a fair assessment between what he needs and when is comfortable and as well giving the team a boost that it’s going to need in the next few weeks for sure.” He further added, “Everything is going well, he needs time as well to get himself that confidence and that physical state that is necessary to compete with a free mind and once he’s free to do that, we will throw him in.”

Leandro Trossard, Eddie Nketiah, Kieran Tierney they all come under the uncertainty list. It is uncertain whether or not they would feature in the Arsenal clash against Fulham. The club is still monitoring these players and their injuries.
