Arsenal handed transfer boost after PSG eyeing Pepe transfer

It seems like Nicolas Pepe’s disappointing career at Arsenal will come to an end. However, Paris Saint-Germain can come to the rescue for him and hand Arsenal a major transfer boost as well. Arsenal are already looking at the opportunity to offload the Ivorian winger.

However, with the poor form, it might be difficult to offer him and coup good money. But it looks like the Parisian club registered interest in him.

French news outlet Foot Mercato reported that Arsenal offered Pepe to different clubs including PSG. The new sporting director of PSG reportedly likes the player and even signed him at Lille. This move can pave the way for Edu Gaspar, Arsenal’s technical director to bring in a quality replacement.

Pepe at Arsenal

It seems Pepe’s stint as a Gunner will come to an end. Selling him this term will procure the much needed fund to bring in a replacement for the Ivorian. He joined the club only in 2019 summer when Emery was still the boss. During this stint, he managed to score only 27 goals and assisted 21 times in 112 appearances. But the Gunners had to spill £72 million at that time, which is still a club record fee. Looking at this stat, clearly he didn’t justify his price tag.

According to The Sun, Arsenal would look at the opportunity to sell Pepe this summer. They are ready to take the massive hit in his market value and can accept a bid in the region of £25 million. According to Superdeporte, Sevilla also registered interest in signing him.

If the Gunners manage to sell Pepe this summer, they would also require to bring in a quality replacement. Despite excellent outings from the ‘Starboy’ Bukayo Saka, a competition for him will only push him further to improve himself. The Englishman played well throughout the season but there were moments too where he ran out of gas. Arteta also admitted that the youngsters need rest at the end of the season.

According to SportBILD, Arsenal identified Bayer Leverkusen’s Moussa Diaby as the ideal replacement for Pepe. However, the German club demanded £84 million for the talented winger. There are also rumours of Arsenal and Serge Gnabry reuniting, according to news outlet Fichajes.
