According to The Sun, Premier League giants Arsenal have joined Manchester United in the race to sign Wolves and Portugal star Ruben Neves.

Reports suggest that Ruben Neves is on the lookout for a move to a bigger Premier League club in the summer transfer window. Ruben Neves is in the last two years of his contract with Wolves. Since joining the English outfit back in the summer of 2017 from the Portuguese side Porto, Neves has established himself as one of the best and most consistent midfielders in the Premier League.

The Portuguese midfielder has made a total of 31 appearances across all competitions this term for Wolves. In this time he has recorded four goals and two assists. (stats via Transfermarkt) Neves has formed a formidable partnership with veteran midfielder João Moutinho in the middle of the park for the Premier League outfit.

Premier League giants Manchester United are scouting the Portuguese midfielder ahead of the summer transfer window. Erik ten Hag is leading the race to become the next Manchester United manager. Reports suggest that Erik ten Hag is a massive fan of the Portuguese midfielder. On top of that, Ruben Neves will be the perfect fit for Erik ten Hag’s system. Arsenal have joined Manchester United in the race to sign the midfielder in the summer transfer window.

Is Ruben Neves a good midfield option for Arsenal?

Despite recent results, Arsenal are still in a very good position to finish in the top four of the league at the end of the season. Granit Xhaka and Thomas Partey have formed a good partnership in the base of midfield for the gunners. But there are still massive doubt over Xhaka’s disciplinary record. Ruben Neves would certainly slot in perfectly alongside Thomas Partey in the base of midfield.

The 25-year-old has averaged 2.3 tackles, 1.3 interceptions and 1.3 clearances per 90 in the Premier League this term. On top of that, he has averaged 1.4 shots per game, 0.6 key passes and 0.7 dribbles per game in the league this term. He has also maintained a pass accuracy of 83.7% in the league this term. As for Manchester United, Paul Pogba looks set to leave the club on a free transfer in the summer. Neves would certainly be a good replacement for the French world cup winner. In conclusion, both sides should go all out for the Portuguese midfielder in the summer.
