Arsenal looking to offload fringe players as per Mikel Arteta’s wishes

Arsenal is working to get rid of unnecessary players and reduce its team size. They’ve successfully sold one of their forgotten players to another team in the Premier League making a good amount of money. Mikel Arteta is making changes to his team for the upcoming season.

Despite spending a lot of money on new players like Declan Rice, Kai Havertz, Jurrien Timber, and David Raya, selling players has been a challenge.

Granit Xhaka left Arsenal and moved to Bayer Leverkusen for about £20 million. Folarin Balogun is close to joining Monaco for around £35 million. Some other players leaving are Auston Trusty, Matt Turner, and Pablo Mari. Kieran Tierney is going on loan to Real Sociedad.

Arsenal sending Nuno Tavares to Nottingham

Even though Arsenal has had trouble selling players for profit, they have an opportunity with Nuno Tavares, a less-used player. He’s going to Nottingham Forest on loan with an option to buy him for £12 million. Tavares joined Arsenal two years ago for £8 million. He did well in his first season but was loaned to Marseille. However, Arsenal’s new tactics don’t need him as much.

Moreover, Jorginho, who Arsenal signed in January, got Tavares’ squad number, showing the change in the team. Tavares hasn’t been playing in preseason matches or talking to the media. As part of their summer changes, the 23-year-old Portuguese player is now joining Nottingham Forest. This is similar to what United States goalkeeper Matt Turner did, moving from London Colney to Nottingham Forest as well.
