Arsenal make offer for Real Madrid forward Marco Asensio

One of the representatives of Marco Asensio has revealed that Premier League giants Arsenal are interested in signing the Spanish forward in the summer transfer window.

Marco Asensio is enjoying a decent season with Real Madrid at the moment. The forward has made a total of 34 appearances across all competitions. In this time he has recorded ten goals and one assist for his side. (stats via Transfermarkt)

Asensio was very highly regarded as one of the best youngsters in the world just a few years ago. But the hype has faded away with time. But the Spanish forward is still performing day in and day out for the Los Blancos. Ever since Carlo Ancelotti’s arrival at the helm at the start of the season, Marco Asensio has regained his starting spot in the team on the right flank.

Asensio has won plenty of trophies with Real Madrid and he remains a very important part of the squad. But the 26-year-old is out of contract in the summer and looks set to leave the club on a free in the summer transfer window. A host of clubs across Europe are targeting the Spaniard ahead of the summer transfer window.

Marco Asensio’s agent confirms Arsenal transfer interest?

Talking to SportMediaset, one of the representatives of Marco Asensio said:

 “Milan’s interest is a pride, a future in Milan is an option.

“There are also offers from a couple of English clubs, including Arsenal. We are ready to evaluate every possibility.”

Is Marcus Asensio a good option for Arsenal?

Arsenal are currently on course to returning to Champions League football at the end of the season. With the return to the Champions League on the cards, the club will certainly look to add more quality to the team at the start of next season.

The club are currently prioritizing signing a new young top striker in the summer as both Alexandre Lacazette and Eddie Nketiah are out of contract in the summer. While Marcus Asensio doesn’t quite fall into the striker category. But he would certainly add a lot of Champions League experience to the young Arsenal squad.

Nicolas Pepe’s future at the club is still under massive scrutiny. Asensio would certainly be a good fit for Mikel Arteta‘s attacking setup. At 26-years of age, a move to the Premier League may be the perfect choice for Marcus Asensio as well.

The club have invested heavily into youngsters in recent seasons.
