Arsenal may finally sign Turkish midfielder Orkun Kukcu to bolster their midfield in the summer transfer window, according to reports.

Orkun is moving towards a Feyenoord Exit and Arsenal chief Edu Gasper may soon be in pole position to sign the midfielder in the summer. He has been a long-term target for Arteta’s side.

Earlier in his career, Orkun has similarities to Ballon d’Or winner Luka Modric. Former midfielder Momo Sissoko also compared him to Modric last year.

Orkun made his debut in 2018 and Arsenal were already aware of his talent back then. Talks were reportedly held, but the move didn’t materialize for the midfielder.

The 22-year-old has scored 12 goals in all competitions this term. He also captain’s his side Feyenoord, who are currently sitting at the top the Eredivisie table.

Ex-Dutch Footballer Ronald de Boer is one Orkun’s admirers this season. De Boer believes the fact that he will leave Feyenoord at the end of the season. He told :-

“He is certainly leaving Feyenoord for a very large amount.

“I think he is also difficult to keep.

“He has seen the light. You have to make sure you have an athlete’s body. He has that now. You can see from everything that the boy is so comfortable in his own skin. He looks incredibly fit. That is why he is having such a great season, because he can of course play great football.”

The midfielder is valued at £22 million, which quite affordable is today’s transfer market. Hence, Arsenal could save some funds for some expensive targets this summer.
