Arsenal midfielder Granit Xhaka has praised the ability of striker Eddie Nketiah in the team. This comes after the injury of their star striker Gabriel Jesus during the World Cup.

The Swiss midfielder has said that Eddie has the potential to perform well during the absence of the Brazilian. Hence, it looks like the Gunners might not sign a new striker in the January transfer window.

THE RISE OF EDDIE NKETIAH IN THE ARSENAL TEAM

According to reports, Arsenal striker Gabriel Jesus is likely going to be out with an injury for 3 months to 4 months. The injury is a major knee injury. Hence, he had undergone a knee surgery to solve the issue. Therefore, the recovery from the injury will at least take 3 months to get fully fit. Hence, it looks like the Brazilian striker will miss most of the second half of the season. Therefore, it is likely that the Brazilian will miss the important final stages of the Europa and most of the remainder of the Premier League campaign.

Hence, the Gunners are likely going to depend on the ability of Eddie Nketiah on the team. The former U-21 England striker has recently signed a new contract with the Gunners. Arsenal extended his contract because of his brilliant form in the second half of the previous season. He got the start over Alexandre Lacazette during the last season. Hence, it clearly indicates that Mikel Arteta trusts the ability of Eddie Nketiah. Although, this will be the biggest test for the remainder of the team to create goals for the young striker.

GRANIT XHAKA PRAISES THE ABILITY OF THE YOUNG ENGLAND STRIKER

Arsenal midfielder Granit Xhaka has praised the ability of Eddie Nketiah. He has also said that Eddie is a brilliant and upcoming player. Hence, every player around the team will have to help him score goals. He has also sympathized with the injury of Gabriel Jesus during the major tournament. The midfielder has further stated that Eddie has played well in the games he has started. Therefore, it looks like Eddie Nketiah will get the chance to impress Arsenal’s coaching team.

Granit Xhaka further said,

“We have the option with Eddie, of course. He showed great games as well in the past and we need to support Gabi first,”.

“We need to support Eddie as well, because he will be a big, big part of the next two or three months. “

But I am looking forward to it because we have the quality to bring Eddie there and to help him.”

Granit Xhaka also said that Eddie Nketiah has all the brilliant qualities to replace Gabriel Jesus in the starting line-up.

Hence, it is clear that Granit Xhaka and other Arsenal teammates support the idea of Eddie Nketiah leading the forward line in absence of Gabriel Jesus. Therefore, it looks like Mikel Arteta might not prioritize the idea of signing a short-term replacement striker for Gabriel Jesus. Hence, it looks like Mykhaylo Mudryk continues to be their top January transfer target.
