Arsenal have reportedly opened talks to sign Belgian full-back Timothy Castagne from Leicester City this summer.

According to Belgian Journalist Sacha Tavolieri, Arsenal have made their first move to sign Castagne. Gunners will be keen to bolster their squad after missing out on the Premier League Title this season.

Arteta is looking for a new full-back who can play on both the flanks, specially with Keiran Tierney’s future in doubt.

As per Daily Mirror, the 27-year-old is under Arsenal’s radar this summer. Gunners are now interested to sign him as a cover for Oleksandr Zinchenko.

Castagne joined Leicester City for a fee worth £22 million in 2020. The full-back enjoyed a brilliant start of his career at Kings Power Stadium, but he struggled for form over the past year.

However, Castagne excited about his future and speaking to La Derniere Heure, he said:-

“I think the time has come to move on, but I won’t be disappointed if I stay.

“I’m very proud of this. It’s proof that hard work pays off. I hope it’s more than just simple interest from (interested teams).

“I was especially a fan when Thierry Henry played for (Arsenal). Now I’m not so much.

“You have to be honest with yourself. When a team like PSG or Tottenham come knocking on your door, you can’t say ‘no’.”

Arsenal will again look to challenge for the Premier League Title and Castagne will be an excellent backup option for Gunners next season.
