Arsenal player ratings in an impressive win against West Ham United

Here we have the Arsenal player ratings in a controlled win over West Ham United. Both the clubs are fighting for the top four spot and this match was very crucial for Arsenal and West Ham. It would mean that one would lose 3 points but also the opponent gain 3 points. However, Arsenal were up to the challenge and were able to defeat West Ham 2-0.

Arsenal featured a young starting lineup for the game with Lacazette as their captain. Moreover, they were able to dominate West Ham having 8 shots on target while West Ham had only 1.

The Gunners took the lead in the 48th minute with beautiful finish from Gabriel Martinelli who was released with a beautiful through ball from Alexandre Lacazette. Moreover, they had an opportunity to double the advantage but Lacazette failed to capitalise from the spot.

In the 68th minute Vladimir Coufal got a second yellow card and was sent off for his tackle on Lacazette. Futhermore, Arsenal finally doubled their scoreline with a left footed low shot to the near post by Emile Smith-Rowe in the 87th minute. West Ham had very little to trouble Arsenal.

Arsenal are currently 4th on the Premier League table just one point above West Ham. However, Manchester United have one game in hand and can go above Arsenal on goal difference if they win it.

Aaron Ramsdale – 6/10

Had very little to do in the game. However, he stepped up when needed and did well to build from the back.

Takehiro Tomiyasu – 7/10

Tomiyasu was solid again in the defence for Arsenal. Moreover, he also contributed well when going forward.

Ben White – 7/10

He had to answer some critics after his previous 2 performances. Nevertheless, he did well to put out the danger add calmness to the play.

Gabriel – 8/10

Performed the most important job of keeping Antonio at bay. Can be a very good center-back in a few years time.

Kieran Tierney – 7/10

He could have got himslef a goal with a great volley which was unfortunately saved. He put in some great crosses and did his job both defensively and offensively well.

Thomas Partey – 7/10

Did well to brake West Ham plays and intercept passes. Moreover, he has also improved his distribution of the game.

Granit Xhaka – 6/10

He was decent throughout the game but was sloppy at times and gave away the ball in crucial areas.

Bukayo Saka – 9/10

He has become a serious threat down the right flank. Moreover, he was constantly troubling the West Ham defence with his pace and intelligent play.

Martin Odegaard – 7/10

He is finally finding form in the middle of the pitch. Moreover, he seems to have developed a good relationship with Saka and had some good plays with the right winger.

Gabriel Martinelli – 9/10

Finished the chance he got in the far bottom corner beautifully. He seems to have found his position on the left flank for Arsenal.

Alexandre Lacazette – 7/10

He was great overall and got a great assist to show for. However, scoring the penalty would have been a cherry on the top for Lacazette.

Substitutes

Emile Smith-Rowe – 8/10

He added freshness to the attack and look accurate with his plays. Moreover, he scored a good goal with his left from outside the box.
