According to The Sun, Real Madrid have informed Luka Jovic that he can leave this month and Arsenal are lining up a loan deal for the Serbian. The Gunners were trying hard to bring Dusan Vlahovic to London however that seems a bit difficult now. Nonetheless, signing a striker is still a priority for Arsenal, and talks related to Luka Jovic have emerged.

Arsenal currently have three strikers Nketiah, Lacazette, and Aubameyang. However, all of them have uncertain futures at the club. As evident, Aubamenyang is highly likely to leave whereas Nketiah and Lacazette have contracts expiring soon. Moreover, a quality striker will be needed to challenge for titles and trophies.

Luka Jovic has not enjoyed his time at Real Madrid much. He has scored just 3 goals in 47 appearances for the club. He is being heavily criticized at Real Madrid since he is also not getting game time at the club. Jovic will be entering the peak age of his life but does not have regular game time to showcase his abilities.

Jovic can have a fresh start to his career at Arsenal where he will get more time on the pitch than Real Madrid. The Serbian had a good enough goalscoring record at Frankfurt and he just needs more freedom and time to play. He has played just 1,446 minutes at Madrid in 47 appearances whereas he has played 1,254 minutes in 18 appearances at SL Benfica B.

What can Luka Jovic bring at Arsenal?

Luka Jovic offers versatility to the attacking lineup and has all the qualities of a striker. He can play alone at the front or also as an attacking duo up top. His pace helps him reach the ball quickly and drift past defenders. This allows him to get in better positions to score the goal. Moreover, he is also an aerial threat and a real target on set pieces. Most importantly, he is a good finisher with both his feet.

Jovic has a good physique where he can muscle out very strong defenders. In addition, he has a very good understanding of the ball spin and bounces where he can take advantage of the second ball or any errors caused by the opposition defense. He is not the best at linkup play but can improve if he gets more experience and once he gets habituated to that playing style.

Arsenal currently lacks that no.9 who everyone fears as their current strikers are kept at bay for quite some time now. All of the three strikers Arsenal have now are not scoring week in and week out. However, Jovic is capable of doing that and can do better if he gets enough support. The Serbian will also try his level best at Arsenal as that will be an opportunity to revive his career.

Both Arsenal and Luka Jovic will have to be aware of the fact that there will be less time to get adjusted. Consequently, Arsenal must have a plan that fits Jovic from the start. If Jovic does succeed at Arsenal then many other clubs may get interested in him in the summer. However, an option to buy in the loan deal might change a few things for both Arsenal and Luka Jovic.
