Arsenal youngster Charlie Patino is the one to look out for

Arsenal youngster Charlie Patino is one to look out for as he is one of the players who is highly praised among the staff of the Arsenal academy. Arsenal manager Mikel Arteta handed him the debut for Arsenal last season during their league cup game against Sunderland. Young and not accustomed to the physicality and speed of the Premier League, he has been loaned out to Blackpool in the championship this season.

Huge praise for Patino from Georgios Okkas

In an interview with London World, Okkas was asked about the best players he’s ever faced.

The Cypriot youth international said:

I’d say Xavi Simons from PSV.

Omari Hutchinson is good, plus Charlie Patino, the youngster at Arsenal, whose quality is out of this world. Technically, wow.

Patino who is on loan at Blackpool has been a regular in their midfield. In a recent game against QPR, his performance was quality during the 6-1 win.

A breakthrough season for Patino

This season has been a breakthrough season for the midfielder. He has played regular football for Blackpool who are struggling. He has been the only positive for them this season. The stats he produced are pretty decent for a player playing his position. He has scored 2 and assisted 4 for them this season in the championship.

As a player who hasn’t played regular football before, other than youth level had done quite well. He might be hoping to follow in the footsteps of his fellow teammates Smith-Rowe and Balogun. However, his route into the first team of Arsenal would be difficult as they have a fairly large squad now.

What does the future hold for Arsenal youngster Charlie Patino

Even though being one of the biggest prospects out there, the Manager still questions his adaptability in the Premier League. With Arsenal trying to bolster their mid-field for next season in the summer window, it is unlikely for Patino to get game time. Arsenal are looking to buy either one of Declan Rice or Caicedo to improve their mid-field drastically. With either one of them, it is becoming more likely that he will go out on another loan even though Arteta wants a left-footed mid-fielder on the bench. Patino will probably go on loan next season to a first-division club to progress as a player. Being technically gifted Patino is one of those players to keep an eye on in the near future.
